A third 1956-themed book from FTD in barely a year’s time. That’s kind of neat. Phillip Harrington was on assignment for Look magazine in late May 1956 when he made a great number of excellent photos of the singer on tour, and at home in Memphis. Some of his prints have been available for years, and I recall his son coming on this forum kind of upset that they were being misappropriated in a previous FTD book. Hopefully that’s all water under the bridge now.
It looks like a bonus CD will include the famous May 16, 1956 Little Rock early show recorded by disc jockey Ray Green. Too bad there’s not another one from the tour available, as Elvis sang “Only You (And You Alone),” the #1 Platters hit, at all the other dates.
