‘The Paradise, Hawaiian Style Sessions’ New FTD set: As part of its successful ‘sessions’ series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of ‘The Paradise, Hawaiian Style Sessions’, the 60th anniversary edition!
Newly mixed and mastered by Sebastian Jeansson and Vic Anesini, the masters and outtakes, featured over 3-cds, now offer superior audio to the original 1966 soundtrack album.
The 24-page booklet contains many rare photos, memorabilia, movie trivia, recording data and insightful essay.
EIN Note: Fans should realise that all but one of these songs were vocal overdubs onto pre-recorded instrumental tracks.
Citing illness Elvis didn’t report to Radio Recorders for the scheduled soundtrack sessions.
In the end the only song that Elvis sang live with his band was ‘Sand Castles’.
This album includes six vocal-overdub attempts on ‘Queenie Wahine’s Papaya’ and 9 vocal-overdub attempts at ‘A Dog’s Life’ – oh joy!
