Except for masters and alternate masters – all original 4-Track tapes are lost. Celluloid Rock Volume 2 (Cool Romeo) has a binaural mix used for the masters taken from the 4-Track tapes. The master of ‘Let Yourself Go’ is spliced from the first part of Take 5 and the second half of Take 6 (from “Let’s go…”). On the record version of ‘He’s Your Uncle Not Your Dad’ are certain lines sung by Ray Walker, but in the movie these lines are sung by other people. With the binaural mix on Celluloid Rock Volume 2, CD3, you can hear how these lines were erased to have the opportunity for overdubbing for the movie (in bold below). He’s your uncle, not your dad He’s your favorite relative If you’re naughty for ten-forty’s your salvation (Longer solo) If you’re honest you don’t have to shake and shiver The additional lines for the movie version were recorded on December 14 1967. In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis’ masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package. |
