I can only think of the This Is Elvis FTD, and that was likely a straight transfer of the original album master.<\/p>\n

Having owned these singles since November 1977 and March 1978, respectively, calling the live B-sides “horrendous sound quality” is hyperbole.<\/p>\n
They sound fine, the main problem is they are unremarkable tracks. RCA’s Joan Deary was responsible for both, for what that’s worth, completing the first one in October 1977, the second in February 1978. She added additional applause to the ending of “America The Beautiful,” and a little to the beginning and end of “Softly As I Leave You.” All in a day’s work. It was not that bad. The A-sides of “My<\/span> Way<\/span>” and “Unchained Melody,” live stereo multi-tracks with a lot of overdubs, were done by Felton Jarvis and Jerry Bradley in late August 1977.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With regard to the EIC multitrack reels, it was revealed on this forum a couple of years ago that the EIC tapes have been remixed and remastered, and that FTD received a directive from corporate not to release the material. At the time, it was thought that perhaps Sony Legacy had plans for EIC, but after reading Ernst’s comments last December that EIC is not happening because the performances are so terrible and that LMP does not want it out there, one suspects that the directive from Sony was not about its plans to release EIC, rather, Santos and the management team are honoring LMP’s wishes.
