All songs on the Double Features release have left and right channels reversed. Take 1 of ‘How Can You Lose What You Never Had’ on Collectors Gold has Elvis singing a line of ‘Down In The Alley’. This is actually from before Take 4 of ‘The Girl I Never Loved’ and can be found in the correct place on FTD’s Clambake extended soundtrack. On the CD Movie Session Memories (FG 973001), rip-off bootlegger Famous Groove spliced the intro of ‘How Can You Lose What You Never Had’Take 1 with the rest of Take 3, calling it “Take 2”. There was a “Take 2” announcement only, on BMG’s Collectors Gold that it was appended to. Not only pathetic, but a waste of time. All such home-spliced outtakes will be revealed eventually. The original matrix number for ‘You Don’t Know Me’ (Movie Version) (UPA3 8449) was changed when it was eventually released on Double Features (WPA5 2501). In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis’ masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package. |
