A whole day of music rehearsals takes place at Radio Recorders.

The definitive release of these sessions can be found on Follow That Dream’s limited edition The Fun In Acapulco Sessions 3xCD set, where everything has been restored, remixed and remastered from scratch, and all masters and outtakes are presented in the best possible sound.

An extended (5:10) mix of ‘Bossa Nova Baby’ was released on a 12″ Single in March 1987, and can also be found on the bootleg Loose Ends Volume 3.

The record version master of ‘I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here’ is Take 10 spliced with the second from last line from Take 7, as follows:
0:00 – 2:37: BO-10 (Start to “I think i’m gonna like it here…”)
2:38 – 2:42: BO-07 (“I think i’m gonna like it here…”)
2:43 – 2:53: BO-10 (Jordanaires: “I think i’m gonna like it here” to end)

The line from BO Take 10 of ‘I Think I’m gonna Like It Here’ was physically cut from the tape reel and replaced with the same line from BO Take 7, meaning the complete Take 10 now does not exist on tape.

The record version master of ‘The Bullfighter Was A Lady’ is spliced from takes 9 & 7:
0:00 – 0:41: GO-09 (“Pedro the bull” to “but he met his master that day”)
0:41 – 2:02: GO-07 (“The Bullfighter” to end)

In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis’ masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.

‘El Toro’ is spliced from takes 2 & 1, as follows:
0:00 – 0:37: LO-02 (“There’s a legend” to “brought him defeat and pain”)
0:37 – 2:41: LO-01 (“and to his sorrow” to end)

The movie version master of ‘I Think I’m Gonna Like It here’ is the intro of Take 19 spliced with the rest of Take 18, as follows:
0:00 – 0:12 Take 19 (Start to “…no-one seems to worry”)
0:13 – 2:37 Take 18 (“Why they’re all so happy is very clear” to end)

The movie version of ‘(There’s) No Room To Rhumba In A Sports Car’ is edited (1:24) and has overdubbed instruments.

The movie version of ‘You Can’t Say No In Acapulco’ has overdubbed instruments.

The master track for ‘Guadalajara’ doesn’t match the backing track Elvis does his vocal overdub to, on FTD’s The Fun In Acapulco Sessions or the acetate containing the spliced master track, in that there are additional voices and instruments heard on the track used for the vocal overdub, which are not heard on the actual spliced master track. This means that an overdub was done either at this session or before Elvis actually recorded his own vocals on February 27.
